My Inspiring Story on African Changemakers Leadership (ACLeads) Forum from Khartoum, Sudan.
By: Mutasim Essa Abdallah Adam – ACFellow 2018 – Sudan
I am super-excited to let the world know what African Changemakers is doing by investing in the African skills and capacity development through their African Changemakers Fellowship Program (#ACFellowship) to support young people as they spur growth and prosperity, strengthen democratic governance, and enhance peace and security. African changemakers is empowering young people to connect with other changemakers or change agent in their communities, accessing free trainings, skills development courses and mentorships that has helped hundreds of young Africans shape their local and global mindset perceptions on a variety of social, career and business issues.
What a beautiful opportunity it was to be among over one hundred of ACFellows, Cohort 1, 2018 from across Africa. Together with 32 young Sudanese changemakers from different background and specializations, we participated in the ACLeads meetup event, at Sunut Forest, Khartoum, Sudan considered one of my most important contribution I have done for my community which was organized on March 2, 2018. The event started at 11:00pm to 3:00pm. This event was a part of my personal commitment after I attend online courses offered by African Changemakers Fellowship Program (#ACFellowship). The aims of event were to give the participants general view about African changemakers, learn how to build a network, develop the skills to be a leader for the benefits of people and our communities, inspiring and engaging young people to be proactive in their communities, moreover share with participants what I learned from African Changemakers Fellowship Program; the opportunity was a life-time changing experience for me; I learned many new things and I am definitely looking forward to apply them in my career and business life.
Most of the participants reflected that; the event was great success and this was the first ever African Changemakers event in Sudan, they were very pleased with the event contents and the delivery of the content in addition also the discussion activities made the participates engaging and thought provoking. It was a great pleasure sharing my little experience gained from African Changemakers Fellowship Program (#ACFellowship) with other young Sudanese changemakers as I am looking forward to pitching my project soon.
My advice to young people is to volunteer in their communities because it’s incredibly rewarding and you’ll meet so many inspirational people, being part of community movement is really amazing and we’re only getting bigger and better, I encourage young people to join African Changemakers and learn how to implement ideas, use your skills, resources and your knowledge for the benefit of people and your community development. Incredible things can happen when communities come together to solve problems, invest their time and energy into inspiring community participation, at the end you’ll be amazed by what’s possible in an impossible world. I believe serving our communities helps volunteers to demonstrate leadership in different settings, in addition to developing their entrepreneurial skills, which can occur through collaborative efforts, effective networks, partnerships with local communities, relevant government departments and NGO’s that add value to what we strive to achieve.
Thank you African Changemakers for your commitment to being a catalyst for empowerment and change to youth, women and girls across 54 Africa countries and the continent as a whole to engaged and strengthen changemakers and change agent’s efforts in their communities. You inspire all of us in this journey through your unique and great initiative. I sincerely thank all participants for choosing to be a part of my ACLeads event; my thanks extend to all African Changemakers Cohort 1, 2018.

Really, I cannot even be able to reply on what we have done for me and my colleagues. It was an amazing day we spent together as we discussed many social issues about our community and country, and we made a commitment go forward and do our best for our community. Really I thank African Changemakers officials and the participants for their great work and Mr. Mutasm.
